Summertime offers a chance to work at a different pace, and if we are able, put up our feet for a while and enjoy the beauty of a garden, the tranquility of the ocean, the whisper of wind, the grandeur of a mountain, or cup of coffee and good conversation with someone we love. A time to refresh and restore.
As your stewardship campaign leadership team, we too are aware of the passing summer, and how easy it is to kick back and lose track of time. And so, we ask your prayers for the ability to focus and stay the course with joy and enthusiasm. We are excited to see God’s hand at work in Lanesville. The campaign to restore our facade is a part of the much bigger “3R” effort. In addition to restoring the exterior of our meeting house we desire to refocus our vision for global missions, and reshape our pastoral team. We want to be renewed in God’s image to be the people he desires.
The campaign itself will consist of 2 parts: a silent phase during which time we will work to secure a significant portion of pledges in anticipation of our October 5th “Presentation, Celebration and Commitment” event. This will be a time to invite the entire congregation prayerfully to consider what their part of the campaign should be and celebrate how we have already been blessed. More details to come. Please take a moment to reserve this date on your calendars.
Please pray, too, for the construction team as they begin to organize the work that needs to be done. God is faithful…all the time!
Your stewardship campaign leadership team,
Jennifer Lyon, Sally Levesque, Karen O’Neil and John Fortado with Pastor Floyd and Elsje Zwart.
As the summer weeks fly by, your behind-the-scenes stewardship planners are busy. It has been exciting to see the physical restoration of the sanctuary becoming part of the much broader context of renewal. We feel that God is not only calling us to renew the exterior of our building but the interior of of hearts as well. We wait with anticipation to see how God will work in our midst to make us a people who desire to serve Him and whose lives reflect the gospel of grace and salvation. Please keep all these efforts in your prayers.
You have probably seen the posters announcing our campaign, with reference to a page on our website. Please take a moment to read the Pastor’s Case Statement as well as some additional information about the campaign. You’ll notice that an event on October 5th is being planned called “Presentation, Celebration and Commitment”. This will take place in the Parish Hall and you are all welcome. Please save the date.
And finally, if you have any ideas or suggestions to raise funds, please speak to anyone on the Leadership Team. They are: Jennifer Lyon, Sally Levesque, Karen O’Neil and John Fortado. They meet weekly under the leadership of Elsje Zwart, who is guiding the campaign.
We thank God for his inspiration and guidance.
