The Orthodox Congregational Church in Lanesville (OCCL), is now accepting applications for the position of Pastor/Teacher. OCCL is a member of the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference (4Cs), and was established in 1830 as an orthodox response to the Unitarian/Universalist controversy of the day. Since then it has held firmly to an orthodox evangelical faith and sought to be a congregation of both truth and grace. OCCL is a vibrant, multi- generational congregation of Christians who are committed followers of Jesus Christ, lovers of God’s word, and eager to love one another and our larger community.
OCCL is a unique congregation of around 200 members. We are Reformed in theology, but welcoming to those of other theological traditions. We are truly congregational; affirming pastoral leadership while remaining committed to shared governance. Our Elders, both male and female, are deeply involved in the care and shepherding of the congregation. The congregation includes a diversity of occupations and careers and we are accustomed to exegetical biblical preaching and teaching that goes deep and challenges us to take action.
Our Pastor/Teacher of over 20 years retired at the end of October 2019. We began our search for a new Pastor/Teacher with a significant time of prayer and preparation and are now ready to invite applications.
